Welcome to Gusto! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Gusto mobile application, the chefgusto.app website, and the related services we provide (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Techworx BV (“Techworx”, “we”, “us”), a company established in Belgium. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Gusto is an AI cooking companion. You describe what you would like to cook and Gusto generates a recipe tailored to your preferences, lets you refine it in a conversation, and can guide you through cooking hands-free with voice. Parts of the Service work without an account; others (like saving recipes across devices) require one.
2. Recipes are AI-generated — use your judgement
Recipes, substitutions, cooking instructions, and answers in Cook Mode are generated by artificial intelligence. They are provided for general informational purposes only and may contain errors. In particular:
- Allergies and dietary needs. Always check ingredients yourself. Gusto tries to honour the dietary preferences you set, but it cannot guarantee a recipe is free of any allergen or suitable for a medical diet.
- Food safety. You are responsible for safe food handling, storage, and cooking temperatures. When in doubt, follow official food-safety guidance, not the app.
- Not professional advice. Nothing in the Service is medical, nutritional, or other professional advice.
3. Your account
You can sign in with Apple or Google, or start anonymously and link an account later. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion removes your account and the content associated with it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Gusto Pro, subscriptions and billing
Some features — such as unlimited recipe generation, hands-free voice in Cook Mode, and an unlimited cookbook — require a paid “Gusto Pro” subscription. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are billed by those stores under their own terms. Prices and billing periods are shown before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings — deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Refunds are handled by the store you purchased from, under their policies.
5. Your content
You keep the rights to the prompts you write, the photos you scan, and the recipes you save. You grant us the licence we need to operate the Service — for example, to store your saved recipes, process your requests with our AI providers, and show a recipe to someone you share it with via a share link. Share links are accessible to anyone who has the link; share thoughtfully.
6. Acceptable use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive;
- try to generate content that is dangerous, hateful, or infringes others' rights;
- probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Service or circumvent its limits (including free-tier rate limits);
- reverse engineer the app or the service APIs except where the law permits it.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including the Gusto name, mascot, app, website, and design — is owned by Techworx and its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't give you any rights to it other than the right to use the Service as intended. Recipes generated for you may be used for your personal, non-commercial cooking enjoyment.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
We work hard to keep Gusto simmering, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features (including free features) at any time. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect a paid subscription.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Techworx is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including our liability for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will let you know in the app or by other reasonable means before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules that let you litigate where you live. If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
